14-year-old facing multiple charges following fatal crash on I-17

UPDATE (11/13): Phoenix Police said a teenager is facing multiple charges, in connection with a crash that killed three people.

According to Sgt. Vince Lewis, a 14-year-old suspect in the case has been released from the hospital, and referred to the Juvenile Correctional Center. The teen is facing three counts of alleged 1st Degree Murder, two counts of alleged Aggravated Assault, two counts of alleged Endangerment, one count of alleged Felony Flight, and a count of alleged Theft of Means of Transportation.

The teen, according to Sgt. Lewis, was released from the hospital.

UPDATE (11/9): On Thursday, Phoenix Police released the identity of those killed in a car crash and fire on the I-17 on Monday.

According to a statement by Sgt. Vince Lewis, all three are females.

Police said identified the person who died at the scene as 14-year-old Promise Garcia. Melissa Bishop, 38, was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said 13-year-old Ariella Santos was taken to the hospital, and was pronounced dead the following day.

Police say three people are dead after a stolen car crashed into another vehicle and burst into flames near I-17 in Phoenix.

According to a statement by Sgt. Vince Lewis with Phoenix police, the Arizona Department of Public Safety notified Police of a stolen car that was heading north on I-17, around 8:00 p.m., and shortly after that, police received a call of a serious collision with a car on fire, on the east side of I-17 on Greenway Road.

Police say the SUV was driven by a 14-year-old teen, and three people inside the vehicle, including a 13-year-old girl, were killed in the crash. The teen driver of the SUV and three other passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle is expected to survive.

Police say the SUV was stolen out of Phoenix and neither driver showed signs of impairment.
