Arizona weather forecast: Kicking off May with above average temperatures

Temperatures should settle in the middle 90s on Saturday. We should see sunny skies.

By Saturday, gusts will increase as the next low-pressure system moves over the Pacific Northwest and glides north of Arizona. This system will approach a bit closer, and as a result, we'll see larger impacts.

Gusts Saturday are expected to hit around 20 mph in Phoenix and 30 mph in Flagstaff. By Sunday, those gusts will increase to 30 mph in Phoenix and 40-50+ mph in Flagstaff. This will make for a very windy day on Sunday, especially in the high country.

The north-passing system also could bring an isolated shower to far northern Arizona. Most notable? The temperatures will slip into the upper 80s to around 90 in the Valley. This won't feel cool, but it will feel more comfortable than the previous few days.

The winds remain breezy with highs again in the upper 80s to around 90 in Phoenix on Monday. By next Tuesday, the temperatures begin their next climb.
