Phoenix-area weekend freeway closures (May 10-13)
Southbound Interstate 17 will be closed between State Route 74 and the Loop 303 from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work -- the southbound I-17 on-ramps at Daisy Mountain Drive and Pioneer Road will also be closed; the northbound Loop 101 Price Freeway will be closed between U.S. 60 and Broadway Road from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work - both US. 60 ramps to the northbound Loop 101 will be closed, and the northbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Warner, Elliot and Guadalupe Roads will also be closed; the eastbound U.S. 60 will be closed between the Loop 202 and Crismon Road from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for lane marking work -- both the Loop 202 ramps to eastbound U.S. 60 will be closed, as well as the eastbound U.S. 60 on-ramps at Power and Ellsworth Roads; eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes between 40th Street and the U.S. 60 from 10 p.m Friday through 2 p.m. Saturday for construction -- the eastbound I-10 ramp to eastbound U.S. 60 will also be closed; and Grand Avenue will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between Center Street and SR 74 from 11 p.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Saturday and from 11 p.m. Saturday through 3 p.m. Sunday for pavement sealing work.

The bodies of two men who authorities say drowned at Fossil Creek in the Coconino National Forest have been recovered.

1 dead in crash involving city bus on Loop 202
One person was killed in a crash involving a city bus and a pickup truck along the westbound lanes of the Loop 202 near Scottsdale Road, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said. The freeway was shut down due to the crash, but it has since been reopened.
Chandler City Council advances teen violence ordinances
